3-Ingredient Crock Pot Chicken Taco Meat

An easy and flavorful chicken taco meat recipe made in a crock pot with just three ingredients, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/3 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a small crock pot with cooking spray (optional).
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken breasts.
  4. Slice the butter into pats and arrange them on top of the seasoned chicken.
  5. Cover the crock pot and cook on Low for 300-420 minutes or High for 180-240 minutes.
  6. If time allows, turn off the heat and let the chicken rest, covered, for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Using two forks, shred the chicken, then serve with taco shells and your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté onions or peppers and add them to the crock pot. Adjust taco seasoning to taste.
