Balsamic Baked Chicken Breast

A delicious and healthy balsamic baked chicken breast marinated in a tangy-sweet sauce, perfect for any meal.

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried thyme in a mixing bowl; whisk well.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag; pour marinade over chicken, seal bag.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C); let chicken sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Line a baking dish with aluminum foil and grease with olive oil.
  7. Arrange marinated chicken in baking dish, pouring remaining marinade on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until internal temperature is 165°F (75°C).
  9. Rest chicken for 5-10 minutes before slicing; serve with pan juices and basil if desired.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate longer if possible. Use an instant-read thermometer to check doneness.
