Creamy Chicken and Broccoli Orzo

A warm, simple one-pot meal with tender chicken, broccoli, orzo pasta, and a cheesy cream sauce, perfect for a quick dinner.

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and add the broccoli; sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  2. Add orzo to the pot and pour in chicken broth; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is cooked.
  3. Stir in shredded chicken, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken to save time. Broccoli should be cut into small florets for quicker cooking.
