Honey Lemon Garlic Chicken

A quick and delicious dish combining the sweetness of honey, the tanginess of lemon, and savory garlic, perfect for busy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken thighs, skin on and boneless
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • Cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of mirin
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp of lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken: Season the chicken with salt and pepper, and lightly coat it with cornstarch.
  2. Pan-Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a pan and cook chicken skin-side down for about 7 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic, then add soy sauce, mirin, honey, lemon juice, and zest. Stir in paprika, chili flakes, and black pepper.
  4. Baste the chicken: Return chicken to the pan, spoon the sauce over it, and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Serve over steamed rice, drizzle with extra sauce, and garnish with sesame seeds and chives.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan over low heat.
