Magic Lemon Custard Cake

A delightful dessert that features a creamy custard base and a fluffy lemon cake on top.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add the melted butter, milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  4. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.
